Welcome to South Africa. Upon arrival, you will be met by your driver who will transfer you into the vibey district of Sandton in Johannesburg.

Overnight at Athol Place Hotel before you begin your cultural immersion in Venda. Spend your afternoon connecting the city’s vibrant culture and jazz scene.

It’s an early start today with a drive deep into the heart of Venda territory. Nestled at the foot of the Luaname Mountains, Fundudzi is a traditional camp that gives you the rare opportunity to explore the sacred places as well as Venda arts and crafts.

It is most renowned for their immersive cultural tours which explores the myth and legend around Lake Fundudzi and the Thate Vondo Forest. One of the highlights is witnessing the Makwarani dance group who make the Dombo dance come to life in the form of a writhing python of traditionally-clad women.

Are those lion calls in the distant? Follow the sounds of the bush into the Greater Kruger National Park and check in at Ngala Tented Camp within the Timbavati Game Reserve.

Spend 3 nights in this private wilderness that is teaming with wildlife. Embark on twice daily game drives in authentic open safari vehicles with expert guides teaching you how to read the bush and track Africa’s iconic Big 5.

Make your way down into the heart of the Kruger — the Sabi Sand Game Reserve where you will spend the next 2 nights at the tranquil and soulful Dulini Lodge.

Just as in the Timbavati, join early morning and afternoon game drives daily. Your drives are timed to coincide with when wildlife (especially predators) are most active. Take a step back and reconnect with nature, there are few places on the planet better to do so than the Kruger National Park.

Time for a bit of R&R. Head to the warm Indian Ocean in Maputaland. Here you will spend 3 nights at Thonga Beach Lodge where you can indulge in scuba diving, snorkelling, turtle safaris (in-season), whale watching (in-season) as well as a range of other water based and land based activities at this sustainable, community-based lodge.

Board your local flight from Durban to the Mothercity, Cape Town. Hit the ground running once you check in at Derwent House which has a great central location.

Spend the 3 nights immersing in the culture, history and unique biodiversity of Cape Town. Explore the Table Mountain National Park on foot with a botanist and gain insight into this biodiversity hotspot.

Meander along the Cape Peninsula taking in the rugged coastline before spending the afternoon foraging along the coast for a spot of dinner.

Cradled in the foothills of the Franschhoek mountains lies Sterrekopje, a regenerative farm and soulful sanctuary of healing rest, creativity and play.

Spend 2 soulful nights at Sterrekopje Farm while dropping into a handpicked wine estates to taste the blood of the gods.

It’s your final morning in South Africa. Enjoy a slow morning in the winelands before heading to Cape Town International Airport from where you can continue on your travels.
