17 DAYS | KZN OVERLAND + CAPE TOWN + CEDERBERG

ABOUT YOUR TRIP

Welcome to Durban. Spend the afternoon on a quick yet immersive tour of the city. Settle into an early night, after all tomorrow you’re heading into the Mountain Kingdom. Journey up the daunting Sani Pass and explore Lesotho over the next two days dropping in at Black Mountain and Semonkong.

On returning from Lesotho, make your way into the Drakensberg where the imposing Amphitheatre awaits as well as the 2nd highest waterfall on the planet — Tugela Falls. Enjoy a hike or two while in the Royal Natal National Park before making your way back to beach via the picturesque Midlands Meander and Karkloof areas. Overnight in Durban before your road trip north into the game reserve.

Travel north to Manyoni Private Game Reserve and spend 3 nights at the experiential Mavela Game Lodge. Track Africa’s iconic Big 5 on twice daily game drives in authentic open safari vehicles with expert rangers. Your final stop in KwaZulu-Natal is Thonga Beach Lodge which is where Leatherback and Loggerhead Turtles lay their eggs and where Southern Right Whales and Humpback Whales stop by. Engage in scuba-diving and snorkelling or a number of water-based activities while staying on this pristine coastline.

After all that nature, some city life will go down nicely. Board a short flight to Cape Town and spend 3 nights in the city centre exploring the culture and history (as well as the foodie spots) on foot and with local guides. Finish your South African exploration with a bicycle tour of Stellenbosch while spending a couple days in the Cape winelands.

EXPLORER

Think of the Explorer as an adventurer who wants to make his mark in the world and discover new lands. The Explorer archetype has high regard for his or her freedom. Sitting still for even just a short period of time can cause them to feel jittery, uneasy, and restless. They crave adventure and feed off new experiences.
